Q4: I have learnt various technologies and their processes during construction of the project. Firstly, I used Photoshop for the front cover of my magazine. There were a range of tools that we used. One was the stamp tool. This is were you would choose something from the picture you had and put than on another part of the picture. An example is where someone had a spot and I could choose to clear it by picking out some of her skin and layering that over the spot so it disappeared. Another tool that I used was the magnetic lasso tool. This is were you can cut out a certain part of a picture you want and paste it into the final product.
Another software I used was Quark Express. This was used for my contents page. This is where I set out my layout for the contents and entered in the information that I wanted. I firstly made the margins of my page smaller as I wanted to fit more on my contents. During the production of thus I used guttering. This is where there is spaces between each column so that the text is not jumbled up and can be easily be readable.
Lastly, I have used a blog to store all that I have done. I have been able to paste in my front cover and contents page, researched on some student magazines and I have done my evaluation. This has made it clearer on what I have done and I can look back on my blog to see what I still need to do.

Q3: I attracted my audience by using a range of media that attracts students. The age group was 16-19 and this means I had to make a magazine that had to appeal to this age group. The layout was simple. The masthead in the the top left hand corner, the mid close up picture in the middle and the coverlines near the bottom of the page. The mast head was in a scruffy font. This connotes how students are sometimes scruffy in their appearance. The style of the magazine was simple as it was not supposed to be an outrageous magazine. The magazine was for achievers, this meant that my magazine was for people to achieve something with their life rather than be an individual and stand out.
The main picture that was used was a medium close up. This means that the photo had to be chest high. Our picture was of a student and in the background was books. This picture was meaningful as I wanted to state how students would be because during their student lives they would be reading books. This is a stereotype on a student but is effective in what I wanted on the front cover of the magazine.

Q2: The audience for my magazine was for post modernists. These are people who have to have it, to be it and to play it. The magazine is based on music and this fits in with the post modernists categories. They must have it and want to be it and must play it. This is like in our magazine interviewing a band. The readers would see it as they want to have it, want to be in that band and play music by that band.
Our magazine is for people who are aspirers and achievers. They want to climb the social scale and they want to achieve something well in their life. These people who would read the magazine are people who go out with their friends. They care about their personal lives, what they wear. They want to achieve something big. They want good grades in their exams rather than just lye around all day doing nothing.
The age range of the magazine is set at 16-19. This is because I'm around that age and i know what i want as a teenager. I know what i want to read and what i want to see on a front cover of a student magazine.

Q1: My media product uses a range of conventions that relate to real media products. Firstly, denotation and connotation are used to describe what the product actually looks like and what you feel it is about. The product I created used a range of media forms like the font which was sans serif. It used freebies, issue number, barcode and coverlines.
The main picture used is a mid close up shot and the layout style is that most of the text is at the bottom. The masthead is in the top left hand corner of the front cover with the picture between the masthead and coverlines. Compared to other magazines there is no splashes. This is dues to that the magazine was supposed to be not a radical magazine it's rather a simple magazine.
Like all magazines there are freebies. i did the same with my very own freebie. This is clear to see, so it stands out on the page so the reader is attracted. Like other media products i used the ideas they had and related it to how i wanted it to look like.
