Evaluation

Q4: I have learnt various technologies and their processes during construction of the project. Firstly, I used Photoshop for the front cover of my magazine. There were a range of tools that we used. One was the stamp tool. This is were you would choose something from the picture you had and put than on another part of the picture. An example is where someone had a spot and I could choose to clear it by picking out some of her skin and layering that over the spot so it disappeared. Another tool that I used was the magnetic lasso tool. This is were you can cut out a certain part of a picture you want and paste it into the final product.

Another software I used was Quark Express. This was used for my contents page. This is where I set out my layout for the contents and entered in the information that I wanted. I firstly made the margins of my page smaller as I wanted to fit more on my contents. During the production of thus I used guttering. This is where there is spaces between each column so that the text is not jumbled up and can be easily be readable.

Lastly, I have used a blog to store all that I have done. I have been able to paste in my front cover and contents page, researched on some student magazines and I have done my evaluation. This has made it clearer on what I have done and I can look back on my blog to see what I still need to do.

  1. A reasonably competent blog that reveals some understanding of key ters and concepts. You are however using denotation and connotation in a slightly confused manner in the answer to the first question. You do use the terms appropriately in the latter questions (about audience.) Try to remember that connotations are mental concepts (expressed usually as single words) that the audience member produces in their minds as a result of the signs formed by the producer. In other words, audiences make connotations and producers create denotations by pulling together images and text. If you are confused about this, please do see me.
